New ecological gluing

Smrečina Hofatex belongs to a group of traditional producers of insulating materials which are based on wood fibre. For more than a half a century, we have been among the greatest of European producers of insulating wood slabs who make use of the so-called wet-method. At all times we make efforts to bring quality to you, our customers. For us, the innovation comes first. We are proud to be among the first producers who use purely ecological glue.

Since October 2009 we have used a new kind of glue for the whole-slab pasting form - a starch glue, which is prepared at our company from supplies of modified starch. It is an ecological glue based on natural components, which means it is completely harmless to our health. This change of glue has had a positive influence on the volume of our production also.Nowadays, the glue has completely replaced a previously used synthetic glue based on polyvinyl acetate (PVAc).
